Ohio’s 11 casinos and racinos collectively generated approximately $181.2 million in gambling revenue in January, a $26.2 million drop from December’s figures.
Compared to January 2023, revenue was down slightly, with this year’s total at $176.1 million, according to the latest report from the Ohio Casino Control Commission and the Ohio Lottery Commission.
Still, total gambling revenue for 2024 remained consistent with 2023, with both years just under $2.4 billion. The reported revenue reflects the amount retained by gambling establishments after paying out winnings, excluding state taxes and fees.
Ohio’s four casinos, which offer slot machines and table games like Blackjack, earned $77.9 million in January, down from $89.1 million the previous month.
Meanwhile, the state’s seven racinos—located at horse racetracks and offering only slot machines—saw a revenue increase, generating $103.3 million in January, compared to $100.9 million in January 2024. These figures exclude bets placed on horse races.
In the Greater Cleveland market, MGM Northfield Park reported $23.7 million in revenue for January, an increase from $22.2 million during the same month last year. JACK Thistledown Racino recorded $13.8 million, slightly higher than the $13.7 million it brought in during January 2024. JACK Casino Cleveland saw a decrease, reporting $19.6 million in January revenue compared to $21.2 million during the same month last year.
